Farmore was running their entire operation on an off-the-shelf database application built with FoxPro. As their company grew, then ran into scalability problems with the FoxPro engine having difficulty accomodating the heavy load of additional users. They also found it challenging to get the manufacturer to make timely customizations they requested. This led to difficulties with organization as related data had to be stored elsewhere in network folders or physical cabinets. Retieving a customer quote would entail thumbing through a file cabinet on the other side of the office and take several minutes to find assuming it was even saved. |
